The two batters were on rival teams in the recent Ashes contests.
Aussie batter Travis Head stated that he sent a message to English fellow opener Ben Duckett after a social media clip circulated appearing to show the player in a drunken state before the Melbourne Test.
Reports suggested that players were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a respite in the coastal resort of Noosa in the gap between the second and the third Tests.
One unverified video sparked heightened attention on the squad and on Duckett specifically.
"I have a good relationship with Ducky and reached out to see if he was doing okay," commented Head.
"Everyone is still human. What you do in your private life is your concern.
"I know we live a very public life and certain individuals are more visible than others.
"At the end of the day, it is a somewhat unfair but I don't think there is any genuine problem."
The team's four nights in Noosa followed they had fallen 2-0 down in the Ashes series following losses in Perth and Brisbane.
Several news organizations stated that some players were drinking for a significant portion of their time on the coastal break, in addition to on two earlier days in Brisbane.
Although they produced an improved performance in the next Test, they lost in Adelaide to concede the series to Australia.
Speaking after the visiting team's win in the Melbourne Test, Head remarked: "I was jealous.
"People has made a lot more out of it than was necessary.
"Our teams have done the same thing on previous tours. I don't see an issue with it."
