The Streaming Giant Chooses Spot-On Star for Bon Clay in the Hit Series Season 3

The Secret Organization is geared up to exert significant influence in Netflix’s upcoming season of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t unfold until season 3, and a beloved, fan-favorite member has now been chosen.

The platform declared this week that Cole Escola is now part of the One Piece upcoming season’s lineup and will portray Mr. 2. Bon Clay has the ability to transform into an perfect replica of any individual they’ve laid a hand on with their dominant hand. The performer, who is gender non-conforming and prefers they/them pronouns, will portray a version of that role reimagined as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag queen, in the real-life adaptation, as in the source material and cartoon version.

Escola will work alongside multiple recently announced actors tasked with bringing Baroque Works to the screen, such as head the main antagonist, portrayed by the well-known actor, an emerging star as another operative, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is also part of the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Although Bon Clay is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Considering the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this marks a major departure in the placement of the character’s debut, one that could suggest more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Their mix of precise humor and deep sensitivity makes them a perfect fit for the role. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the popular theatrical show Oh Mary!, highlighting the versatility they’ll add to one of One Piece’s highly regarded roles.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is scheduled to come back for its next installment on March 10, 2026.
