Salah Offers Statement to Squad, Reveals Curtis Jones

The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Mohamed Salah apologised to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his public comments.

The Incident

Salah was left out from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and suggesting his relationship with manager had soured.

“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”

The manager has refused to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the veteran striker.

He emphasized that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.

He also suggested that a player's desire to start is a positive trait. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s concerning.”

The team's performance have remained strong in the matches since the situation. Jones believes the forward's comments were not intended to destabilise the squad.

“If passion has boiled over, it’s always been from a good place,” Jones concluded. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and on a positive run.”
