Passionate fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who leaped a fence and grabbed the performer during Thursday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A circulating clip reveals the person identified as Johnson Wen shoving aside photographers and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by supporters.

Co-star Cynthia Erivo promptly wrested the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "free after being taken in", though official papers indicated that he was due to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was charged.

Record of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram account contains recordings of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney performance in earlier this year and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers performance in the city last year.

"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is obviously a punishable act," commented an Instagram user, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Grande's Well-being

Many fans accused Mr Wen for "causing further distress" Grande, who had revealed suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 concert in Manchester, killing 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.

"After everything she's faced... including the Manchester attack, you considered it entertaining to rush the barrier?" commented one more response on Instagram.

A number of attendees also criticised security officers at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while different individuals requested digital services to block Mr Wen's content.

Aftermath and Event Details

In clips spreading on the internet, Grande looked shocked when she was grabbed by the man. Her cast members Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be observed comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by staff.

Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event proceeded as normal.

The production itself is a spin-off of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the good witch Glinda, was decked out in a light pink sparkling outfit at the event while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a black tube gown embroidered with roses.

They were joined by fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the highest-grossing motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned ten Oscar nominations, earning two for best costume and set decoration.
