Ex- Doctor Faces Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former physician stands accused of carrying out assaults against thirty-eight individuals who were under his care.

Details of the Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

These allegations follow what investigators described as a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.

Spencer will appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences comprise:

  • 15 counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
  • 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
